CIA Model of Tension Reduction

A stating that you've probably heard a whole lot in operation, in sports, and human performance generally speaking is managing the controllable. What does that really mean? I wanted to adopt this concept of governing the controllable, which is actually really good advice incidentally, and take it out from the an entire world of as a cliché and to the realm of something which we can easily actually do.
In our workshops we'll use something called the CIA Model to assist students gain comprehension of this concept minimizing stress in their lives. It's pretty easy to understand this model so here's the short form.

Accept

Influence
The second category are things that people influence. Listen, do not have complete control over our little ones, our colleagues, etc, but we do have influence over them, then one from the best stuff that that you can do for your own growth is that in circumstances that you have influence to exercise that influence will dramatically supercharge your self-esteem.
Control
Now we arrive at the category of things we are able to control. here We're here to talk about controlling the controllable. Well, guess what happens, folks? I've found that there is really only 1 thing one of many things we can control. It's your decisions.
That's right, your decisions about your health will be the only thing that people actually have direct treating. What do you do with this information, the only thing that I have total control over would be the decisions that I make?
Stop looking to control items that you've got no control over. Amazing in my opinion simply how much energy people waste trying to control issues that they maybe have influence over, but also in many cases should just accept. I'll also point out that in terms of things that you've got zero influence over, I wouldn't spend enough time talking or complaining about them. It's simply a drain on your own energy. Are you catching yourself attempting to control things that you want to just accept? Notice that, and I would change your mind on that.
When you realize the only thing you have complete control over will be your decisions, take responsibility for your decision-making process. I'm not saying to blame yourself when things come out poorly. I am saying it will require responsibility for your decision that you make. That's when you commence manipulating the controllables and seeing the outcome that you simply really are interested in.
I don't play a whole lot of poker, but one thing that I have often heard is that winning at cards, specifically poker, features a small amount regarding they that you simply are dealt, and it carries a huge amount regarding the method that you make decisions and play they which you're dealt. Same thing goes for your lifetime. Life truly is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we react.
